Comprehensive FAQS About Our Housekeepers

Have FAQS about our Housekeeper services? Learn more about our Housekeeping team and how using GYH can help to keep your home clean and tidy.

Q.

Where do you operate?

A.

We operate in both Brisbane and Sydney metro areas.

Q.

How Do I Pay?

A.

Once you have started services, you will receive instructions on how to set up payment via direct debit either from a bank account or credit card. For business clients we also offer BPAY.

Q.

Why can’t I have less than 3 hours per session?

A.

For two reasons. Because we legally employ our housekeepers we must ensure that their working conditions meet the National and State legislative requirements.

This means any time a housekeeper works they must be paid for 3 hours.

Secondly, we know that housekeeper are NOT motivated to work for less than 3 hours. It takes time and money to get to a clients home. If they are only paid for 2 hours we know they will be less likely to attend regularly.

Q.

My house needs to be decluttered. Can a housekeeper do that?

A.

No. Your housekeeper will maintain any existing systems of order or tidiness in the home. They can refold and restack your cupboards, but it is not their job to declutter.

If your home is too cluttered, we will request that you receive Professional Organising before a housekeeper begins.

Q.

Will my housekeeper speak English?

A.

Yes. If we cannot understand a prospective housekeeper we do not hire them.

Q.

Who provides the cleaning products & equipment?

A.

You do. Why? Because many of our housekeepers use public transport and, honestly, people who bring cleaning cloths and mops into your home are simply contaminating it!

Q.

Can I interview my housekeeper?

A.

Yes and No. When we assign you a housekeeper they will call you to arrange their first session.

We do not provide any employment information to clients as this breaches our agreement with our housekeeper.

All of our housekeepers are reference checked, police checked, visa checked (if applicable), and trained in-person by our team.

We train IN HOMES, so if we don’t feel comfortable with someone we don’t hire them – simple.

Q.

I have asked for Meal Preparation, what does that mean?

A.

If you have requested Meal Preparation we will send you a housekeeper who has indicated that they are comfortable preparing food in a clients home. This does not mean that your allocated housekeeper has been trained, verified or completed any further training in cooking.

They should be able to follow a very basic recipe but are not expected to create your meal plan or make multiple dishes per day.
